Autosport has an interview with the guy that made it all happen. From what he says, the location is very hilly and has some lakes, and he says the track will be 3 miles long and "hella fast". The way he talks about the classic American racing tracks is promising too. You also have to remember that Tilke has had a difficult job, he has either had to ruin old circuits to make them safer, or build tracks in flat deserts.

Quote from 5haz :Har har har

Come race day, you wait, something will fall off the planned new US team entry just after Book Depository Corner and hit Hamilton as he enters Elm Street Straight. Several decades later there will be a popular film that fuels a conspiracy that the FIA had thrown the object from a grassy knoll just after Book Depository Corner, in a bid to secure Ferrari the championship.

Quote from Electrik Kar :It not really that simple.. hehe

I've seen one or two episodes, and from what I saw the writers just made it up as they went along, nothing really tied together or made much sense. I remember the fat dude going on about lottery numbers, then some black smoke thing was knocking about, then they were in some bunker watching a clock because something bad might happen and I think at some point someone was trapped in a hole that some twonk dug. I remember lesbians, but to be honest I may have that confused with something else I watched. One thing is for sure, I know why they called it Lost.

So they were all dead? That's up there with "it was all just a dream", that's the kind of stuff I was told off for writing in short stories when I was 11 years old. I can picture the pitch they gave now "think Cast Away crossed with Sixth Sense, then drag it out for a few years and put some random shit in there to keep the idiots hooked".

Quote from thisnameistaken :Turned out Ashes To Ashes was much the same sort of situation. Maybe Life On Mars is the last proper TV show with quality writing and continuity that didn't have to have some ****ing stupid mystery-centric ending.

I was dissapointed with Ashes to Ashes, it was such an obvious ending right from the start, when that new guy came in I thought to myself "so that's the devil then". I still think Life on Mars should have ended when he jumped off the roof though.

So what was it? Are they all dead? Aliens? Dream? Government experiment? Bullshit they made up as they went along?

I've actually been in a similar position, sometimes it just doesn't matter if they are fit or whatever, if you don't want to be bothered and they keep on bugging you then you're within your rights to tell them to **** off in whatever language you like. If it was the other way round and a bunch of guys were bothering some girls in a park then someone would probably call the police and call them perverts or something. So I wouldn't beat yourself up over it, you just did exactly what they did, said something they wouldn't understand. Loving the attitude of the guys on here by the way, you don't have to have sex with every single attractive girl you meet, some of us act on the brain in our heads not our pants.

Quote from RocksGt :Alonso said that his team had told him that overtaking was not allowed, so he didn't expect Shumacher to make that move

Which is complete bullshit, until I hear an actual radio transmission I will assume Ferrari fed their drivers that line after the race. If they didn't, then I think they cocked up, because I agree with Ross Brawns understanding of the rules.

Supreme performance by Webber, didn't put a foot wrong and was never challenged. That Red Bull looks unbeatable, if they sort out the reliability they will dominate the rest of the season. I would love to see Kubica in a faster car, for me he is the best driver in F1 at the moment, brilliant team leader, never makes mistakes and his pace is immense. Great move by Schumacher, it would be a shame if it was ruled out, hopefully Damon will actually be in Schumachers corner on this one.

Quote from de Souza :I was between picking Kubica or a Mercedes chassis. Chose the chassis.

They will have a good run during the race, they messed up Q3 quite badly. The only bad thing I did was pick Shell fuel, but to be honest based on free practice times and the fact I needed to make a cut somewhere to get Sutil it's not a bad decision.

I predict a huge crash on the first lap, red flagged, then Schumacher will win the restart.

I'm the clever one that booked my left over holiday to cover all my favourite F1 races. I have next week off (work weeks start on Sunday), the week of Spa and the British GP/World Cup final week.

I'm waiting to see if the Mclarens can beat Red Bull, because if they do well I can go with Petrov/Sutil/FI/Renault/Mobil 1.

The answer is 5th gear, lets make sure we all get it right this time, we need to win the subleague again this season.

Quote from Mustafur :Wow RBR, are we up to this sort of money already?

Even if RBR scored a 1-2 the points lost for compromising in other areas to afford them wouldn't make it worth the effort. I considered doing it, but figured the most you would get was around 500-600 points unless you got lucky with lesser teams/drivers. I think you need to start off picking up teams like Mercedes and Renault, they will get you more value for money, perhaps in 2 races time with good results/bets and bonus question answers you can take a top team without compromising too much.

I'm really happy with my result, as I'm sure the other people who took a gamble on Kobayashi are. I doubt it's a gamble I will take again, but due to my lack of research on the bonus question I lost out on a vital bit of money that would have given me an even better result than I actually got. We really need to get more points in the subleague though, I see lots of people still running with Lotus/Virgin stuff, by now you should be able to upgrade to Torro Rosso or Force India.

The race wasn't the most exciting but I didn't find it boring. I enjoyed Schumachers defensive driving, crapped myself watching Kobayashi fighting with Petrov since they are both in my F1 fantasy team and Kobayashi is aggressive to say the least, and then there was the drama of the last few laps. Vettel did well to drive around the problem he had, looked like he did a good job to actually keep the car on the track before the stop he made. Unlucky for Hamilton, he had such a good race until that puncture, his pace was brilliant and I doubt another driver would have matched him in the same machine in clear air. Oh and in my opinion Jenson should have made a pass stick on Schumacher, Martin was right when he said you can't flag up a pass that early against someone like Schumacher. I think Hamilton would have done Schumacher within a few laps, or not have let him pass in the first place. Also I think Hamilton was right to back out, that gap was closing fast and he would have been done in the next set of turns if he went in deep, he knew 2nd was a great position to be in at that point.

The only bad thing for me is Petrov being so far down, but my 2nd driver is Kobayashi and he is looking good for a strong finish if he keeps it on the grey bits. Unfortunately since I got the wrong (even though it was actually right) answer for the bonus question I had to stick with Force India/Renault/Total. I would have liked to go with a full Renault team.

It's the wrong answer, non-championship events were still called Formula One Grand Prix, but they were not F1 World Championship Grand Prix. So the correct answer is actually 14.

So Ferrari have actually removed the barcode from their cars for this weekends Grand Prix. I think this whole situation is a bit mad, the people complaining should realise that simply by being a red Ferrari it's advertising for Marlboro because of their long term relationship with the team. I think one of the PR guys from Marlboro even said as much when they first had to remove their sponsor stickers from the car.

It's still classified as a Grand Prix event though, they just didn't score championship points. Either way I will not be happy if I don't get the extra money because I answered 14, since both 12 and 14 could be the correct answer to the question.

Ah, but do they count the non-championship events? It could be 12 or 14.
